Gaze was engaged to undertake the amalgamation of all business units under one roof utilising 7,000sqm of space and housing around 460 staff members. The base building design was required to achieve an NZGBC 5 Green Star Accreditation.
The new space was in a heritage building. Gaze transformed the existing split of 40% office and 60% open plan, to 10% office and 90% open plan. This involved designing and installing a grand central staircase in the entrance foyer, and placing the control room adjacent to the reception to have on display as a feature space. The relocation was an integrated fit out. Gaze worked closely with the landlord and client to ensure the solution was the most efficient use of the building whilst assisting the company with their transition to a more open-plan environment.
