Watercare

Watercare leads New Zealand in the water and wastewater industry. They source, treat and supply freshwater as well as collecting, treating and disposing of wastewater.

Gaze was engaged to undertake the amalgamation of all business units under one roof, utilizing 7,000sqm of space and housing 460+ staff members. Gaze's base building design delivered on the NZGBC 5 Green Star Accreditation.

The new space was in a heritage building. Gaze transformed the existing split of 40% office and 60% open plan, to 10% office and 90% open plan. This involved designing and installing a grand central staircase in the entrance foyer, placing the control room adjacent the reception as a feature display. The relocation was an integrated fitout. Gaze partnered closely with the landlord and Watercare to ensure the solution optimized efficient use of the building and transitioned Watercare to an open-plan environment.
