The Dilworth Building is a 9-storey mixed-use heritage building in Auckland, situated at 22-32 Queen Street.
Gaze was contracted to complete the lobby refurbishments on levels 1 and 2, plus a full reconstruction of level 2. This was part of the building upgrade that retained a strong heritage look and feel.
The language school and base building systems (HVAC, electrical, fire detection and lighting) were demolished leaving a bare empty shell. Reconstruction works started with the replacement of windows, solid plaster, columns and ceilings, and installation of an exposed HVAC system with cable trays and LED lighting. The lobbies on levels 1 and 2 were refurbished, by reinstating heritage handrails, replacing lobby windows, and refinishing the marble wall panels.
