Damaged during the 2011 Christchurch Earthquakes, the property located at 106 Durham Street required earthquake repairs, a refurbishment and seismic strengthening, in order to gain 67% NBS.
Full building works carried out by Gaze included demolishing and removing the internal fit-out. This involved partially cutting out the internal floor, reinstating it with enhanced foundations and injecting the remainder of the slab for floor cracking. Engineered steel portals and Reid bracing were also installed throughout the roof space.
Additional works included demolishing and reinstating parapets with engineered enhanced parapets, upgrading the fire system, plastering/painting the full exterior and interior, and reinstating the retail fit-out and warehouse racking. The project was completed on time with tenants being able to trade during the repair with minimal disruptions.
