David is the founder and executive director of Gaze Commercial. Over the past thirty-eight years, he has built up Gaze as a trusted architectural, interior design and project management company, that operates throughout New Zealand. David is strategically passing the reigns over to his team so that they can further create innovative concepts and opportunities for Gaze’s clients. He continues to work with clients to resolve their property concerns and partakes in development opportunities privately and within limited partnerships.
Chris has more than 25 years construction, manufacturing and project delivery experience. He has previously delivered large commercial, hospitality, industrial and laboratory projects throughout New Zealand and Australia. Chris brings many years of finance, contract negotiation, problem resolution, and value engineering practices to the business. During his last three years with Gaze, Chris has account managed several clients including Emirates Leisure Retail with projects at Auckland's International and Domestic Airports.
Michael helps businesses in the South Island find new premises, develop property strategies, and refurbish commercial office spaces and industrial buildings. His background in finance and commercial property means clients get practical advice and cost-effective solutions. He has been working with Gaze since 2013 and maintains a significant network of professional contacts to help make things happen. In his current role, he acts as the main liaison between clients, designers, and project managers to ensure the Gaze delivers precisely what each client wants, on budget and on time.
Matt is an experienced manager with a demonstrated history of working in the architecture, construction, project management & planning industry. Matt has extensive experience in overseeing and delivering commercial property projects for his broad range of clients for over ten years.
Entrusted by clients, Matt has delivered numerous multi-million-dollar jobs whilst working as a specialist within the property industry. These works vary from new builds to building refurbishments, seismic strengthening, property consultation, strategy and feasibility works.
In Matts current role, he is the principal liaison between the client, designer, and project managers to ensure Gaze deliver to his clients’ needs, on time and on budget.
Brendon has undertaken significant project work for many of Gaze's major clients. He has more than 15 years of project management experience across a broad range of projects from $100k to $35M in Australia, the UK, and New Zealand, and has worked for Gaze Commercial Ltd since 2012. He has successfully delivered multiple level fit-outs and infrastructure upgrades, complex educational and hotel upgrades, technology projects (including a Data Centre and a Nanoplasmonics Laboratory), along with several projects involving hazardous, high-risk, and large structural elements.
Mike has been involved in the Auckland Industrial sales and leasing market since 2007. Initially patch focused, Mike made his way from Rookie of the year with CBRE to become more focused on his personal clients and managing long term, strategic relations: In 2018 alone Mike transacted over 25m of sales in the Auckland market with zero marketing dollars. His capacity to listen, provide solutions, and think outside the square has been to the benefit of many of his clients over the years. Naturally creative, Mike is proud to chair the Dust Palace Charitable Trust and give back to the South Auckland arts community.
Amber predominantly supports the Project Delivery Team as well as assisting with other aspects of Gaze. She has been involved in the construction industry for just over 12 years, having worked for construction companies and architectural practices. She has been working with Gaze since 2016, initially as Office Manager and then moving into her current role of Project Coordinator. Amber enjoys her supporting role and ensuring her team have the tools they need to successfully deliver outstanding projects.
Sharyn has more than 20 years of design experience and has been a key member of the Gaze Commercial team since 1998. Her current role is to appoint and co-ordinate staff resources to projects from all branches, oversee processes throughout the design team, and provide support, quality assurance, and advice as required. Sharyn deploys her extensive design documentation management experience to ensure high levels of communication are maintained between all team members, clients, consultants, and councils throughout the design and construction processes.
Responsible for the preparation of documentation for architectural and interior design projects, liaising with external consultants and local authorities and construction administration. As Senior Architectural Designer, Nick is responsible for all aspects of consultant integration into the design from sketch design to resource consent to complete working drawings, including mentoring junior staff.
Kerry has more than ten years of experience in project management, project planning, and change management. He joined Gaze in 2015 and is well known for his ability to understand client requirements, solve problems, and go the extra mile to deliver every project on time and budget. Kerry’s hands-on background in furniture building and installation has provided him with a wealth of insights into the construction industry and his extensive experience in managing tradespeople enables him to get the very best results every time.
Brendon has more than eight years of experience in project management, working on residential and commercial projects for companies in Australia and New Zealand. He is highly regarded for his strengths in communication, relationship management, coordination of trades, and knowledge of the contracting industry. Within the team, Brendon develops budget estimates, programmes works, and co-ordinates tendering processes and contractors, while keeping the lines of communication open between all parties. He has worked on a range of projects including earthquake repairs, seismic strengthening, building refurbishments and commercial interiors.
Simon has worked for more than 15 years in the construction industry. After many years of working as a residential builder, he moved to London and advanced his career as a Project Manager. He has worked in the NZ Commercial Construction industry and as a Property Consultant in the Education sector. He has built a strong network of consultants and sub-contractors and is known for developing strong relationships with clients - built on trust. His vast knowledge of the building industry enables him to form robust solutions through collaboration with design teams and triumphs to complete jobs to a high standard.
Kyle has come to join our team in Wellington after 20 years in the UK.
Kyle has 30 years’ experience in the cabinet making/joinery trade including running a successful joinery shop in London for several years, working on some high end developments in central London.
Raziem is a quantity surveyor with more than 20 years of industry experience. He has spent the last 11 years working for well-known contractors across a range of construction, interiors, shop fit-out and commercial refurbishments projects.
His role focusses on contract documentation & negotiation, cost planning & forecasting, estimates, risk management and monitoring & reporting project profitability.
