Why start the Strengthening Feasibility Process now?

We encourage our clients to proactively consider strengthening buildings to preserve and then improve the long-term capital value of their property.

Gaze complete feasibility modelling as part of our service offer. This is carried out early on during the preliminary design phase, and repeated during the development of the strengthening design, to ensure the project remains viable.

  • To Meet Current Legislative Requirements

Landlords will have, in the worst case scenario, 12 months to have their commercial property assessed. This timeline is dependent on the properties geographical location and condition however, they should be aware of their legal responsibilities.

Landlords should be aware of the risks in terms of tenancy occupancy of older buildings (particularly those suspected to be earthquake prone). The buildings condition will continue to impact on tenant and customer decisions to occupy or visit those buildings.

The assessment, design and consenting process can take a considerable time. It is better to be proactive and start the process as it is difficult to accelerate the programme without cost implications.
